Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics
An independent applied economic research agency providing economic forecasting and analysis for rural resource industries. Access to agricultural surveys, commodity analysis and WTO Agricultural Trade Reform.

Australian Bureau of Statistics
This site has a wide range of statistics and information, including key economics and social indicators and a statistical profile of Australia.

Australian Competition & Consumer Commission
Useful information on the major parts of the Trade Practices Act, as well as a list of publications dealing with the functions of the ACCC and the legislation for which it is responsible.

Australian Council of Social Service
It is the national peak council of the community welfare sector in Australia. Access to research on welfare and the implications for social policy and the socially and economically disadvantaged of the federal budget, tax reform and other government initiatives.

Australian Securities & Investments Commission
The corporate watchdog, the ASIC site contains information for companies, small businesses, investors and consumers on corporate governance and changes to the Corporations Law.

Australian Stock Exchange
Lists market news, share prices, ASX listed companies, information on derivatives and also allows you to play the stock market safely on the simulated trading site.

Currency Exchange Rates
Lists up-to-the-minute exchange rates for a multiplicity of currencies.

Department of the Treasury
Access to economic data on such matters as key indicators of the Australian economy, the CPI, Unit Labour costs and GDP implicit price deflator, as well as giving an overview of taxation arrangements in Australia, in figure tables.

National Centre for Social and Economic Modelling
Publications from this center are a useful resource.

Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)
Introduces the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and provides access to its publications list and to OECD statistics.

Productivity Commission
An independent Commonwealth agency, the Productivity Commission is the government's principal review and advisory board on microeconomics policy and regulation.

Reserve Bank of Australia
Contains an overview of the RBA, including information on its history and structure, monetary policy and financial system stability. Also contains links to other central banks.

WebEc is an effort to categorise free information in economics on the WWW. The original WebEc in Finland s mirrored in Japan, the UK and the USA.

VCE Economics
Contains student activities using the Internet and a wealth of resources useful for economic study.

Created by staff in the Department of Economics at the University of Melbourne, this site provides you with on-line materials which will help you improve your learning skills. Australian Broadcasting Commission
The ABC has many branches to tis site, offering up-to-date information form its radio and broadcasting services.

The Australian Financial Review (AFR)
Provides intelligent analysis of current affairs, with a focus on business, finance and technology.

Australian News Network
Free, daily (updated throughout the day), searchable. This site is supported by News Limited and brings together the news from the company's newspapers across the country, delivering national, state and local news. Links to selected articles from a variety of newspapers within the News Limited chain.

Business Review Weekly (BRW)
Free, weekly, searchable archives. Sites includes links to the largest private and public companies in Australia, Australian market information, share prices and rates, as well as to other Australian business periodicals.

CNN
